Elizabeth Thurman, MS, CCC-SLP

Elizabeth earned her Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2003.

 

Her pediatric speech therapy experience has been gained across varied settings including a pediatric internship at Our Children’s House in Allen, and a full time job in Richardson ISD for 10 years.

 

For the last 7 years she has led the preschool articulation program in RISD, SmallTALK, for students with articulation delays. She finds joy working with children and supporting them in reaching their greatest communicative potential. She also enjoys working closely with families and feels that both parent training and parent education are essential for optimal success and carryover of skills.

Laura Alvarez, M.S., CCC-SLP

 

 


Laura graduated in 2009 with a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Texas. Laura is a native bilingual speaker and enjoys working with a variety of cultural backgrounds and speech language disorders within the pediatric population. She has experience working with both Spanish and English speaking children with a variety of speech and language disorders including; Developmental Delays, Expressive/Receptive Language Disorders, Autism, Developmental Apraxia of Speech, Fluency, and Articulation/Phonological disorders. She has had the opportunity to provide speech therapy in both the outpatient and private settings as well as in the schools. 

 

Laura has a passion for working with young children and believes that caretakers are a vital component in achieving maximum progress and a successful prognosis. She believes intervention should involve family education and support and provides strategies and activities to promote speech and language development at home.
